Let the good weather sessions begin!

My session with Laurel took place on Sunday, April 23rd. I believe this sets the record as the earliest month that I photographed a client in the cold waters of the Puget Sound (which means I get into the water as well).

We began in the studio which was nice and toasty. Then we headed down to the beach to take advantage of the stunning, almost summery, weather. The water was very cold, but the day was perfectly beautiful and warm. It was thrilling just to be outside.

Laurel gave birth to her baby on Friday, April 28th - just five days after these images were made.

With such a perfect first outdoor session, I am excited for the summer! I love photographing people outdoors in any setting - beach, park, forest, meadow. Photographing the pregnant form in outdoor settings is, for me, the ultimate artful celebration of the natural perfection of pregnancy. Hurray for the sun!
