When we schedule a session, one of the first things we will decide is - Where? The most important factor that determines the location is the type of images you want to make. I do most sessions at my studio in Seattle, but we can work at your home or at an outdoor location that fits the images you want to create.

Studio Sessions
My studio is located in the Pacific Commercial building in the SoDo district of Seattle. The studio space has high ceilings, many large windows for gorgeous natural light and plenty of room to move around. The facilities and equipment on hand give us full control of the lighting to create shots we couldn't achieve anywhere else, independent of the weather. Outdoor Sessions
The area surrounding where I live in Indianola offers an infinite variety of stunning venues for a photo session outdoors and it also provides significantly more privacy than any park in Seattle. During the months of July and August, I schedule days for sessions out here to take advantage of all it has to offer. We have access to fields and open, grassy spaces woods with ferns and trees with "character", a beautiful stretch of beach - (sand, rocks, the dock, or in the water) secluded benches and arbors. Living in Seattle, we are lucky enough to have access to many amazing parks. Anytime of the year, I am happy to schedule a session in an outdoor park. However, if the weather doesn't cooperate, we will move the session to the comfort of my studio. (In July and August, I offer an outdoor session guarantee and will reschedule if the weather turns on us.) Because outdoor locations can be more complicated than you might think, we will talk over different possible places to find one that is easy to work in and meets your needs for the type of images you want to make. Travel expenses, depending on distance, are in addition to the session price.

Your Home
There are many reasons people choose to create their images in their home: It can be difficult to pack multiple kids up in the car and get them all to another location and still be in a good mood, many pregnant women at the end of their pregnancy feel nervous traveling far from home or their care provider has requested that they stay nearby, or it can feel special to include your home space as the background of your images. I am happy to travel to your space if that is what works best. I do charge extra to cover my travel expenses. Extra charges vary depending on your location, please ask.
